Practical Advise of Fitness, Workout and Diet

Since being a personal trainer, or even just after the effect of losing weight, I have been asked many times, how do we lose weight? how to build muscle? do you keep a strict diet?

I have said many times, there are myth and facts towards fitness and each and every person has to understand their own body first and foremost!!!!

Let me put somethings clear...
  1. Eating one meal a day kills ur metabolic rate (metabolic rate is the only thing that burns fat)
  2. Ladies, we go thorough loads of training, suffering and pain lifting weights over our muscle's capability to build the bulk, so you DONT WORRY, you WILL NOT be like Arnold Schwarzenegger by touching dumbells....
  3. Not doing resistance workout will cause MUSCLE ATROPHY, losing whatever muscle you now have, LOSING STRENGTH, RISKING EASY SKELETAL DAMAGE, AND LOWER METABOLIC RATE (refer to point no.1 again)
  4. Engaging a Personal Trainer is NOT about making you a BODY BUILDER. The work on understanding the client's body type and HELPING CLIENTS MAKE THE BEST WORK OUT BASED ON HOW MUCH THE BODY CAN HANDLE
  5. MEN, Just because you go to the gym doesn't mean that you need PROTEIN POWDER..... GNC thanks you for buying them, and PISSing it right out to the sewage sistem (plus you get a greater collection of Kidney stones from the build up of unused protein molecules) congrats, you can eventually make jewelry out of kidney stones!!! It only works if you push and OVERLOAD your muscle... The main function of Protein is not to build muscle but repair and rebuild cells... Think about it!!!
  6. WORKING OUT IS NOT ALL ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK, so not only FAT people needs exercise. PUMPING IRON WITHOUT cardio workout will also leave you dying early due to illness with a even nice body.
  7. FITNESS is about BEING HEALTHY, starting for the MAJOR MUSCLE in your body known as THE HEART!!! if that gives up your BICEPS or 6 Pack will be worth nothing!!!

My Point, working out has lots of benefits, keeping your energy level up, creating "happy hormons" (endorphin level up), raising your METABOLIC rate (burn more fat when just watching movie), DELAY AGING, and PREVENT LOADS OF PREVENTABLE ILLNESS (DIABETES and HEART ATTACK) to name afew.

So,

  • DIET alone DOES NOT WORK
  • Pumping Iron alone DOES NOT WORK
  • only RUNNING, HIKING, CYCLING and other CARDIO exercises all the time DOES NOT WORK

THERE HAS TO BE A BALANCE IN ALL OF THEM for OVERALL FITNESS

Focus on your FITNESS LEVEL and start working based on what is IN YOUR BODY, and HOW YOU LOOK will be TAKEN CARE OF!!!

Good FITNESS LEVEL = LOOKING GOOD... simple equation?

By the way, I am not a personal trainer anymore, but it hurts to see people in the gym working themself to failure and injury and trusting their friend's advise. Think about this HAS YOUR FRIEND OR FELLOW LIFTER EVER STUDIED SPORTS SCIENCE, EXERCISE SCIENCE OR PHYSIO THERAPHY? or does he get his tips from muscle building mags that are designed to sell products? Talk to a certified Personal Trainer or Fitness Profesional for advise (in some cases even doctors do that).

Hey Zac!

Just thought I'd say hi! Those are really good fitness tips. I'm usually focused on cardio stuff coz i don't like weights. :P but its difficult for me to do either cardio or weights now coz the gym here is expensive... so i just do yoga and lotsa walking (cheap).
