My friend Steve and I decided to go for a hike since we couldn't get enough experienced climbers to go climbing.
Ok let me get something right, hiking or trekking is going through hills on trails, climbing means "rock climbing". I have been on a few good hikes but I am quite excited about going climbing as i have never done that before.
Steve came to my house at about 3.30 taking our chances against possible rain, we head out to to Youth Park. Started as usual at through moon gate up Wild Boar Track.
We made it up to rest station number 5 in about 40 mins. After a good 5 mins rest, we decided to push further to rest station No 39. As we started walking a dog from No5 followed us all along the way. It was really so cool. She was like our guide.
Breath taking view from No 39 was really the way to spend a Sunday. We got a good view from Georgetown to Ayer Itan, the whole of Penang Bridge and Butterworth Port.
At 5.30, we decided to make our way down. There is a track that i was on once up hill. But things are so different when you are going the opposite direction. Steve and I decided to take our chances once again, this time its with a trail that we do not know.
After about 20 minutes downhill, we asked another hiker where does the trail lead to, and the answer I got was interesting. He said "Oh, this is the way to Riffle Range Flats Tua Pek Kong". My next questions was,"Are we close?" and the reply was "Yea, just keep heading staight down".
Wow, we were way off course. Thankfully my parents came to pick us up and we went for a nice filling dinner after that. We were tired, I dont think our shirts could take more sweat. But it was a really great experience.
