When people tell me they would want to study a certain field or they wish to lose weight, my first reaction would be to ask "Why?".
There has to be a reason behind the ideas.
For example, a student comes up to me and says, "I want to study Medicine." Naturally I ask, "Why Medicine?" and the he replies "Its my interest." After talking to him about 20 mins, he ends up going for Acconting.
What I found in between is that he never liked science, the reason he wanted to be a Doctor is that the was looking for a Doctor's pay. He didn't know that it would be at least 13 years before he would even be considered for that kind of pay.
Many people wants to lose weight, many people want to look good, but not many people achieve it, again "Why is that?"
A girl comes up to me, and asks "What do I need to lose weight?" After 1 hour of explaining ways and methods on losing weight she says to me "If i have that kind of time, I'd rather sleep..."
So how do we do things and make it happen? Firstly, understand WHY you are doing it. (note to my last post, motivation is the WHY we do the things we do.)
